My opinion about the anime:
Let me start off by saying this:
This anime is one of the best summer 2025 anime’s I have seen since both Attack On Titan and Mob Psycho 100. Everything in this anime is peak. I’m talking about from the art style, to the story, to the very intricate details on the background in every episode to the voice actors in sub and dub, EVERYTHING! But surprisenly, This anime is very underrated because websites likes 9anime and Myanimelist, lists the anime with only 6,000 watches. That’s pretty low compared to other main stream anime like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Frieren. One cool thing about this anime is the creator behind it. The creator of Gachiakuta, Kei Urana was an assistant for the man who created anime’s like Soul Eater and Fire Force, Atsushi Ohkubo. Gachiakuta is Kei Urana’s debut series, currently releasing in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. Prior to this, Urana won first prize in Shonen Magazine’s 103rd Newcomer Manga Awards for the one-shot Shikido.
The background of the anime:
Teenage Rudo is one of the hated “Tribesfolk” who lives in the slums of The Sphere – a partitioned society floating high above the clouds. Not only does he belong to a socio-economic underclass oppressed by the rich, wasteful, and cleanliness-obsessed city folk, his peers look down on him for being the son of a deceased murderer. When he’s framed for the murder of his foster father Regto, Rudo is thrown down from The Sphere into The Pit, an enormous garbage dump from which no one has ever returned. From the moment Gachiakuta drops you into its world, you can practically smell the rot. There’s a grime-coated intensity to everything: the clatter of rusted machinery, the soot-stained alleyways, the discarded objects that form the bones of the city. But this isn’t just set dressing.
